Hey all! Wow it's been busy lately. So much is happening so fast but I'm really happy that I get to share it with all of you!
Here's a little run down of how my weeks going...
1. Rehearsals everyday for the entire week. These rehearsals are tech/dress and for the last 4 days of the week we run the shows in front of an audience. This is my first time working as a stage manager instead of a performer but I'm really excited to learn as I go along.
2. Recording with Michelle for her new untitled album coming out June 1st! I'm so very excited to be a part of the making of Michelle's first solo-written album. It's an absolute blast recording BG's (background vocals for you less tech folks) and being involved in the whole recording process. Plus, this is a great way for me to keep up my singing now that I have a little bit of downtime in the performing department.
3. Balancing work at the theatre with the above commitments.
Now lets make it clear that I am in NO way complaining about schedule. People who know me know that I have a great love/hate relationship with a filled calendar. I love the fact that I am so involved in all these wonderful projects and fields; I wouldn't have it any other way. However it does tire one out quickly. Since my calendar has been pretty empty since January let's just say I'm more on the "love' side with my busy schedule right now.
I also get to be involved in theatre even if I'm not performing, which is something I love and have always wanted more hands-on experience with. I've always greatly appreciated stage managers and crew but I now understand how different it is actually being one!
This show ALSO gave me my first "assistant director" credit! YAAAY!
For now, I better get back to this sound editing for the show.
Until the show is over,
~Emma
