What?!? There's no vlog for this one?? Don't worry my dear friends, there will be a video soon. However it will not be a vlog!
I've been attending, performing, volunteering and working at the Sapperton Day Street festival literally for the last 15 years (and I'm 18 so that's saying something). Each year it get's a little more exciting, a little different yet somehow better, consistently. It's a fantastic festival that's all about community and giving back to your own backyard.

This year my nerdy little Disney heart got to live out it's dreams as I walked around as my favourite Disney princess, Rapunzel. For two hours I got to be full on in character, talking to kids and parents alike. I have not worked for a Princess Company before, (I'm just a nerd and went out and bought my own costume and wig because I can,) but I had an absolute blast walking around in full character. Tangled is my favourite Disney and Disney Princess movie, so quoting Rapunzel and the movie was second nature. I only wish I had brought a little Pascal to sit on my shoulder.
For the last half hour of my shift as a Disney Princess I read stories to the kids I had greeted throughout the day. Whilst in the middle of reading Cinderella to the crowd of children and parents, within a split second of looking at the book and looking up, ALL the little girls have gone from sitting in front of the stage to literally sitting around me in a circle. It was absolutely adorable. One sweet girl even gave me a balloon as a thank you!

After Rapunzel returned home to Corona, Emma came back ready to
debut with AFFINITY4 on the main stage. Honestly for a first show, it went pretty great! Our set was a great mix of crowd pleasers, upbeat jams and some slow stuff just to keep things interesting. We also each sang a solo song suited to our own styles and interested. We are all super excited for it and the adrenaline really helped us kick the show into high gear. There were a few minor technical issues but it's nothing we could ultimately control once we got up there. All our hard work paid off and our diverse set was thoroughly enjoyed by our audience. I can't wait to see what's in store for us these next few years! Not to toot our own horn, but we drew quite a crowd! We even got a few offers for more gigs already!

A special thank you to Taylor's dad for filming our set, Julia's dad for live streaming out performance on Instagram (@affinity_4), Adanna for being our special guest singer for Sapperton Day and to Graham and Julian who came all the way out from the lower mainland just to watch us sing! WE STAN DEDICATED FRIENDS!

I'll be uploading the full performance on the AFFINITY4 YouTube channel very very soon! Here's a link to the channel.
No time to get down, cuz' we're moving up! ~Emma
